Technology is a mode of revealing
Heidegger's claim that technology is not a set of instruments but a way the world comes to show up.
The essence of technology is nothing technological. Modern technology is a way of disclosing the world in which everything — a river, a forest, a person's attention — appears in advance as standing-reserve: stock held ready to be called on.
